This is the beginning. No, not of the end. This is a literal beginning, of what I would like to consider greatness...or to put it more along my terms...fabulousness.
Basically, though I am very busy with work (11 hour days can do that to you), I do find time to be in the know of really...anything! I have a quirky ability of discovering hip, chic, retro, and all around CUTE things/places/people. This blog is to present my daily (weekly, monthly, etc) findings to you, and also allow you a glimpse into my life- because it is MY blog after all.
So, let's get you up to date, shall we?
I did actually have another blog, little miss cupcake, created to comment on my twin's blog, thepinkreview.com, but then I made a post in honor of my New Year's resolution. I had planned on blogging allll about it, but having just moved to Kansas City, I was a little too busy to blog about not consuming french fries (yes I gave up FF for '08).
So, this blog is a clean slate in the blogging world and a hope to actually keep up on my posts- the twin suggested this url because I love lolcats (i can haz chezburger?) and I REALLY love cupcakes, so it only seemed natural...
First things first. I can't sleep tonight, and I have found these are the best nights for my discoveries. Tonight I "unearthed" Pushing Daisies online. I love abc.com, full episode viewing totally fits into my I-don't-have-cable-nor-have-a-plugged-in-my-brand-new-flat-screen-television schedule.
The show is downright breathtaking. Really. I love the vivid coloring, unique camera angles, and unconventional story line (also Ned is pretty hot- why am I drawn to nerdy types!?). I won't even try to create a synopsis, so here you go from abc.com:
Grown up Ned (Lee Pace) puts his talent to good use by touching dead fruit and making it ripe with everlasting flavor. He opens a pie shop. But his gift leaves him wary of becoming close to anyone, as beautiful waitress Olive Snook (Kristin Chenoweth) finds out. His life as a pie maker gets more complicated when private investigator Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) finds out about Ned's secret. Emerson convinces the cash-strapped Ned to help him solve murder cases (and collect the hefty reward fees) by raising the dead and getting them to name their killers.
Then Ned is handed the case that changes his life forever. His childhood sweetheart, Charlotte "Chuck" Charles (Anna Friel), is murdered on a cruise ship under strange circumstances. Her death brings him back to his hometown of Coeur d' Coeurs to bring Chuck back to life, albeit briefly, and solve the crime. But once reunited with Chuck, Ned can't bring himself to send her back. He helps her escape after her grieving aunts, Lily and Vivian (Swoosie Kurtz, Ellen Greene), former synchronized swimmers Darling Mermaid Darlings, think they've buried her forever.
Chuck becomes the third partner in Ned and Emerson's PI enterprise, but she encourages them to use their skills for good, not just for profit. Ned is overjoyed to be reunited with Chuck, the only girl he's ever loved. Life would be perfect, except for one cruel twist -- if he ever touches her again, she'll go back to being dead, this time for good.
This show reminds me of Amelie in sooo many ways, you really should check it out. Now if only the writer's strike would freakin' end 'cus I've depleted all options from abc's full episode stock.
Whew. That was a mouthful. I guarantee most posts won't be this long, but they'll be just as good ;)
xoxo.
